Puella Magi Madoka Magica is an anime that I thought I wouldn’t watch because the artwork seems very girly and childish. Yet after I read some reviews about this anime, I got interested and watched it. My opinion in short, it is surprisingly awesome and has a dark side that you wouldn’t guess when you are looking at the poster.
The story begins with the introduction of our main character, Madoka Kaname, who maintains a normal happy life with her family and best friend, Sayaka Miki. One day, Madoka and Miki met Kyuubey, a magical creature that offers them to be a magical girl and fight the “witch”, where they will be granted a wish if they would. However, a transfer student named Akemi Homura appears and tries to stop Madoka to be one. After that, their life has changed.
Personally I don’t like the childish type drawing like the one you will see in this anime. However, the artwork of how the witches are pictured is great. At first, I don’t know why MyAnimeList put “psychological” on its genre (and that’s actually the main reason of why I watch this anime), and I think this anime has a side of psychological problem, though it won’t be as complicated as Psycho Pass for example. But the plot twist and everything is great and I was really enjoying every episode until its movie that are completed with great musics.

Yes, parasite. I don’t know why I decided to watch this anime but it’s worth it and it is not your usual parasite movie where people are in panic and looking for the cure while brutally murder infected people, though that’s what I thought in the first 2 episodes.
Kiseijuu Sei no Kakuritsu tells us a story about the world where some people are infected with parasites all of a sudden. Parasites are living in people’s brains and take control of them. The bad news is, as expected, that they take uninfected human as their food. The story focuses on Izumi Shinichi, an average high school boy that got pretty lucky because the parasite fail to attack and occupy his brain and stay in his right hand instead. In short, he became friend with the parasite in his hand, named migi (japanese for “right”), and together they are trying to save people from those parasites while trying to hide their own identity as well.
Once again I will say that this anime is worth to watch. It is unexpectedly sad, supported with great BGMs, though the artwork doesn’t seem that dark. It portrays the hard situation of the main character that has to manage his relations with his family, his gf, and migi very well. Another plus point is how he is not the only good parasite in the anime. One thing that this anime miss is a brief explanation about where this parasites come from. Actually there is another thing but it will be a spoiler. Well for you who are okay with spoiler, the other thing that kind of tease my mind is the thinking of how these parasites are going to take over the world if they can’t breed new parasites. It is somehow proven when two parasites are having a human baby and in the end all parasites are suddenly gone.
